Individual Therapy

Standard sessions for individual therapy occur weekly and last 50 minutes at the rate of $165. Initial intake appointments are scheduled for 90 minutes at the rate of $297. This allows sufficient time for reviewing informed consent, practice policies, and intake paperwork, as well as reviewing your history, presenting problems, and therapy goals.

Extended sessions are available upon request at the rate of $297 for 90-minute sessions. While these sessions are available for all clients at the discretion of clinician, they are strongly recommended for individuals doing EMDR, as they provide ample time for processing and regulating. Though the extended format is not required for EMDR, many clients find them beneficial with this treatment modality.

Cancellation Policy

Clients are free to cancel or reschedule an appointment with at least 24-hours notice. In the event that a client cancels with less than 24-hours notice or no-shows their appointment, they will be charged the full rate for the missed session using the credit card kept on file. This policy is strictly enforced to ensure consistent availability and equal access to care for all clients.

Insurance and Billing

Please note I do not accept insurance. I am an out-of-network provider, which means that clients pay out of pocket for services. The full fee for my service is due at the time of your appointment. I set all clients up with autopay via Simple Practice, my secure online portal. The system will automatically charge your credit card after each session or for any late cancellation fee owed.

If you decide to submit claims to your insurance company, I will provide you with proof of payment, known as a super bill, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Before submitting a claim to your insurance, please consider the following possibilities:

  • You aren't required to get care out-of-network. You can choose a provider or facility within your plan’s network.

  • To use insurance mental health benefits, a mental health/behavioral health diagnostic code is required.

  • Insurance companies may require access to your mental health records to reimburse your payment.

  • Access to your confidential mental health records by insurance could impact future employment and health/life insurance premiums, and court/legal issues.

  • If you pay out of pocket, submitting diagnoses to insurance companies is not necessary.

  • Insurance companies may not reimburse the full cost of services, so be sure to check with your insurance provider first.

  • You are responsible for completing all required insurance forms for reimbursement. If your insurance provider follows up with me, I will redirect them to you for all communication.

  • Payments are always due at the time of service.

No Surprises Act

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

Good Faith Estimate

  • You have a right to access your Good Faith Estimate. The No Surprise Act requires health care providers to provide clients who do not have coverage, or who are not using their coverage to pay for services (ie., self pay), an estimate of expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. This includes the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.

  • You can ask your provider (any and all of your providers) for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

  • It is your responsibility to save a copy or picture of your estimate.

  • If you receive a bill that is significantly more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
