Updated COVID-19 Policies

At this time, I am offering two options for therapy:

  • in person sessions with masks and extra safety precautions

  • telehealth sessions for individuals residing in TN

Due to the recent rise in cases and transmission of the Delta variant of COVID-19, as well as new research and CDC recommendations, I want to communicate my updated policy regarding safety measures. Please read this in its entirety. If you are a current client, please also continue to monitor your email, as policy will continue to change with the release of new information.

These policies are made with your health and safety in mind, and I am always available for questions or concerns as well as to process the many feelings that accompany them. Please do not hesitate to inquire more via email or to bring this up in session to process.

  • If you are sick, experiencing symptoms, or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive, please request a change from in-person to telehealth. You will not be charged for changing a session to telehealth. The current 24-hour cancellation policy will remain in place, as telehealth provides a safe alternative for meeting.

  • If you are sick, experiencing symptoms, or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive, please also go get tested. You are welcome to return to in-person sessions after receiving a negative COVID test or after a full 10 day quarantine period.

  • If you test positive and have been in the office for an in-person session, please notify me via email so I can act safely and responsibly.

  • Please wear masks in the building, including the hallways, bathroom, and lobby regardless of your vaccination status to protect the clients I see, as well as the clients of the colleagues who occupy our shared space.

  • If you are vaccinated, you are welcome to remove your mask after taking a seat on my couch, based on your comfort level, since we will be socially distanced at that time. I will do the same.

  • If you are unvaccinated, masks will be required during our sessions to continue providing a safe in-person therapy option for you and the rest of my clients. I will wear my mask for our sessions, as well.

  • If you are vaccinated but would be more comfortable doing our therapy sessions with masks on, you are welcome to continue wearing your mask after entering my individual office and to request that I wear a mask while working with you. I will happily do so upon request.

  • Please feel free to wait in your car until your appointment time to avoid cross over with other clients, including the colleagues I work alongside with.

  • Please feel free to utilize the porch outside of the front door as an extended waiting area. I will happily come retrieve you if you prefer to wait outside to minimize your time in the building.

This may feel strange, familiar, anxious, weary, and infuriating. Whatever you are feeling around these changes is valid and I welcome and encourage you to bring it up in session so that we can process further. These are wildly unpredictable times - still. As we navigate a new season of this pandemic with the Delta variant, I want to reiterate that my top priority remains your safety.

It is also of note that if I am exposed, or contract symptoms, I will honor the above protocol and move all clients to telehealth for a two week period and obtain a negative COVID test.

Thank you for your transparency and flexibility. Thank you for helping me create a safe environment so that I can continue to offer my clients in person therapy during a pandemic. I appreciate your intentionality and care in complying with these policies, and I look forward to continuing the brave work you're doing in our sessions, whether it's on my couch or on the screen.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
