why join a process group?

Group therapy produces a different kind of growth than working one-on-one with an individual therapist. It requires a higher level of vulnerability, cultivates more here and now emotional processing, and challenges us to confront how we are experienced relationally.

In a process group, you’ll develop genuine, safe, and healthy connections, have your story witnessed over time, and receive feedback from multiple perspectives.

Whatever challenges you face in the world outside of therapy will naturally present in the group room, as it is a microcosm of the larger world. A unique opportunity to process those issues in real time with honest feedback and genuine emotional responses from others unfolds. This dynamic, relational experience cannot be replicated in individual therapy and is the overwhelming reason why clients report quicker and more sustainable change in group therapy. If it feels scary, that’s because relationships are! The increased risk produces greater reward. If you’re ready to level up your therapy experience, grow on a deeper level, and change the way you interact with others, group therapy might be a great space for you.
